A 60% keyboard drops the function row, arrow keys and number pad, which sounds like a lot to give up until you see how much desk it frees up. The Huntsman Mini is one of the best-known boards in that size, and it’s aimed squarely at players who aim with big arm movements and want every inch of mouse pad.
Razer’s linear optical switches use a light beam to register a press, with a 1.0 mm actuation point that Razer says is 15 to 30 percent shorter than other linear switches. In practice, keys fire very early in the press, which feels quick for movement in shooters. Snap Tap, which you toggle on in Synapse 4, prioritizes the most recent of two assigned keys, so switching from strafing left to right happens without a dead moment where both are held.
The keycaps are doubleshot PBT, which resists the shiny, greasy look ABS caps can get after a few months, and the top frame is aluminum. Everything missing from the layout lives on a function layer, and Hypershift lets you remap combos. If you rely on arrow keys or F-keys for work, the shortcuts take time to learn, and some people never warm up to it. For a dedicated gaming desk, it’s a compact, fast option.
