If you play games with more keybinds than fingers, the Basilisk V3 gives you somewhere to put them. It’s a right-handed ergonomic mouse with a proper thumb rest and 11 programmable buttons, so push-to-talk, pings, abilities and inventory shortcuts can all live on the mouse instead of stretching across the keyboard.
The scroll wheel is the feature people end up loving. Razer calls it HyperScroll: tap it into free-spin mode and it keeps spinning until you stop it, which is great for long web pages or zooming in strategy games. Switch it back to tactile mode and it clicks notch by notch, which is what you want for cycling weapons or skills. It also tilts left and right for two more inputs.
Under the hood there’s a 26K DPI Focus+ optical sensor and Razer’s Gen-2 optical switches, rated for 70 million clicks. Eleven RGB zones, including an underglow strip, can be set in Synapse. This is a fairly big mouse and not a light one, so players who want the fastest flick aim in tactical shooters will be happier with something smaller. For MMOs, MOBAs, RPGs or a mix of gaming and work, the comfortable shape and extra controls earn their place on the desk.
