Keychron K2 HE Wireless Hall Effect Keyboard

Keychron made its name with keyboards that look good on a work desk, and the K2 HE brings magnetic switches into that same tidy 75% layout. The rosewood side panels give it a warmer look than most gaming boards, and it ships with both Mac and Windows keycaps so it fits either setup.

The Gateron magnetic switches are what change how it plays. Each key’s actuation point can be set anywhere from 0.2 to 3.8 mm in 0.1 mm steps, so you can make movement keys fire with a feather touch while leaving typing keys deeper to avoid typos. Rapid trigger resets a key as soon as it starts traveling back up, which helps with quick counter-strafing in shooters. All of this is set in Keychron’s web-based Launcher, so there’s no app to install.

Connectivity covers 2.4GHz wireless with 1000 Hz polling, Bluetooth 5.2 for up to three devices, and USB-C wired. The switches are hot-swappable, but only with Gateron Double-Rail magnetic switches, so you can’t drop in regular mechanical ones. The legends aren’t shine-through either, which makes them hard to read in a dark room. For someone who wants one keyboard for work and competitive games, it’s a stylish way to get magnetic switches.
