Wired controllers have one big upside: you never have to charge them. The GameSir G7 SE leans into that with a detachable USB cable and plug-and-play support on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10 or 11 PCs, including Steam, with no extra drivers.

What makes it more than a basic wired pad is the Hall effect sticks and triggers. Hall sensors use magnets instead of parts that rub against each other, so they last longer and resist the drift that eventually ruins a lot of controllers. GameSir also includes two custom back buttons, which let you jump or reload without letting go of the right stick, and are designed to avoid accidental presses.

There’s vibration in the triggers and asymmetric rumble motors in the grips for stronger feedback, and a 3.5mm jack for a headset. The grips have a fine laser-engraved texture to keep your hands from slipping. Being wired, it’s not ideal for couch gaming far from the console, and you’ll need a long enough cable or extension. For Xbox and PC players who sit close to their screen and want pro-style back buttons with drift-resistant sticks, it’s a smart, practical pick in white.
