Shure MV7+ USB-C and XLR Dynamic Microphone

Streamers in rooms that aren’t treated for sound tend to fight two problems: echo and background noise. The Shure MV7+ is a dynamic microphone, which picks up mostly what’s right in front of it, and Shure adds processing on top to help in less-than-ideal rooms.

Auto Level Mode adjusts gain based on how far you are from the mic and how loud you’re talking, so you don’t blow out your audio when you shout at a clutch moment and don’t vanish when you lean back. A real-time denoiser cuts background noise like fans and keyboards. There’s also built-in reverb with Plate, Hall and Studio settings if you want to add some character for voiceovers or podcasts.

The connections give it a long life on your desk. USB-C plugs straight into a computer or phone, and the XLR output works with an audio interface or mixer if you upgrade your setup later. The top has a full-color LED touch panel with 16.8 million color options, real-time level monitoring and tap-to-mute, which is easy to hit mid-stream. Dynamic mics need you to stay fairly close for the best sound, so if you like to sit far back from your desk, a boom arm helps. For streamers and podcasters who want broadcast-style voice quality without a pile of extra gear, it’s a top pick.
